FAQs about experimental design
Why are we dividing the 1st and 2nd periods?
This RUThe purpose of BI research is toUBI This is to see whether the parent education program is effective for Korean parents as well. Participants were randomly divided into two groups andThis is to properly measure the effect of I. Unlike other clinical trials, this RUIn BI studies, R is given to all participants over time, regardless of group assignment.UBWe offer the I program.
What does staggered time mean?
All participants are randomly assigned to two groups: (1) experimental group and (2) control group. Participants assigned to the experimental group will first undergo the RUBI program for 8 weeks from October to December 2023, and participants assigned to the control group will undergo the RUBI program secondly for 8 weeks from January to March 2024. All participants, regardless of group assignment, will receive the RUBI program.
What do I learn in the RUBI program?
RUBI, which stands for Research Units in Behavioral Intervention, is a parent education program to reduce problem behaviors in children with autism developed by renowned autism researchers at Yale University, Emory University, and the University of Washington in the United States. The first RUBI study was published in the Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA), one of the most authoritative medical journals in the world, making it a highly effective program. RUBI has been shown to be most effective in children with autism between the ages of 2 and 8 who exhibit mild to moderate behavior problems. Originally, it was a 13-week 1:1 program, but this RUBI program will run for 8 weeks to suit the circumstances of Korean parents, and you will learn ABA behavioral principles, problem behavior prevention, and functional communication training. This study is conducted in groups, and parents have the opportunity to communicate with other parents and learn from each other.
